Carina
I am a visual artist and facilitator of creative processes, with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna, Tenerife. My work is inspired by nature, biodiversity, and territory, incorporating an ecofeminist perspective that highlights the relationship between women, land, and care. Through painting, I explore flora and fauna, with a special focus on the marine world.
Throughout my career, I have lived and worked in different countries such as Italy, England, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica, experiences that have deeply influenced my way of understanding art as a living tool, closely linked to social, cultural, and natural contexts. In this journey, I have participated in cooperation, education, and community work projects, collaborating with collectives, institutions, and organizations in the development of artistic initiatives with social impact.
It was in Costa Rica where I deepened my understanding of participatory methodologies and the value of the creative process as a space for encounter, listening, and transformation. This stage marked a turning point in my practice, integrating art not only as a final result but as a shared process that generates bonds, strengthens identities, and opens spaces for collective expression.
Since then, I have combined the creation of personal artwork with the development of mural projects and collaborative processes. I work with schools, public administrations, and communities, designing and facilitating artistic experiences that address themes such as biodiversity, identity, gender equality, and intercultural coexistence. These processes focus on participation, dialogue, and collective construction.
Currently, I develop my work in the Canary Islands, centering my practice between the artistic and the social, integrating art, education, and ecology, sowing reflection and belonging to the territories we inhabit, and weaving mycelial networks between people, communities, and ecosystems. From this context, Ecogalería was born, a personal space for the exhibition and development of artistic projects, oriented towards the dissemination of my work. A living space where I share art connected to the territory.
